    Well, I just hope all that happened to her. Is the story true? Yes.

    I was employed as a teacher at a Business College in a part of Melbourne which is not renown for its wealth. Dandenong, actually. Sadly, people like the baby recipient wouldn't be aware of her rights but I guess she went to CentreLink in the end. I regret that I didn't have the knowledge to get involved and perhaps should have reported what had happened to the Head of the college. But I knew other stories as well which I couldn't do anything about. Working class, single mums in my class did all kinds of things for money additional to their CentreLink benefits, for example. Not my business really.....

    Maybe baby recipient was still living in expectation that the mum would return and didn't wish to dob her in.....
    Maybe she didn't know the surname of the baby's mother...also a possibility. Some of these women had open doors.....
