One of the most worrying aspects of our burgeoning welfare state is the lesson it teaches youth. I taught long term unemployed women who were required to take a course which would provide them with some pretty basic skills to get them mundane office employment. It became pretty obvious over time they were only there only to get centrelink off their case and retain their unemployment cheques. One or two exceptions. The work ethics which was once admired by our society is now replaced by welfare and entitlement. I tell but one story but this is happening every day right across the country. Govt handouts replacing family assistance and now accepted as a right.
Re-education is needed to reverse this entitlement attitude not the opposite of taking from those who have never lived by adopting anything other than a conscientious attitude towards paying for our own expenditures in life during work years and into retirement.
