Another crazy DOW close, another hysterical, Bot-induced trading day that wildly exaggerates the real effect of the usual Nation-State trade posturing on the eve of forthcoming trade talks between China and the USA. Goldman Sachs and Co. punch up the VIX and the banks make trillions in yo-yoing global markets on every snippet of news. Trade wars...really? I do know there is good money in volatility if you are controlling the money, markets, media-hype and the dials. It's enough to make you want to dig a hole and store what's left of your money in there...or is it?
I smell an extraordinary opportunity here for an Australian graphite miner in Tanzania which is NOT selling its wares to the new so-called trading enemy of the West. Europe need high quality graphite too, including a sophisticated location to process the stuff. Check. Check.
KNL is perfectly positioned to leverage from this situation. And it will.
Of course we need an operating TANZ Mining Commission to get this show on the road. I have been diligent in trying to set up communications with someone of authority in the TANZ government who can provide some information on TANZ's mining relations with foreign mining investors and resident foreign mining licence holders. After much frustration, the clouds are beginning to part on that front. Of course, Africa can be a challenge to do business in, but the sheer momentum of its size, population and resources make it an unstoppable economic force.
The frustrations of recent months for KNL holders will seem a blip soon given the inexorable economic progress of Tanzania and the entire African continent. This extract from a 2018 World Economic Forum presentation makes the point well:
'Africa is the world’s last frontier market, and Western businesses need to start taking advantage of its tremendous potential, as Chinese firms already are. Doing business in Africa will also create sustainable jobs and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to eliminate poverty and hunger. And that, too, will be good for the bottom line. As the Business and Sustainable Development Commission has shown, pursuing the SDGs “could raise trillions in new market opportunities in ways that extend prosperity to all.” [

KNL's joint commitment to its African workforce, their local community and its shrewd positioning of non-Chinese buyers for its premium graphite is a win-win for KNL shareholders and TANZ. Europe - particularly Angela Merkel in Germany - has already clawed her way into Africa to compete against the Chinese with trade deals and stimulus packages in Tanzania - and KNL is another [electric] vehicle to achieve a strong European market-line for TANZ's mining wares.
