HI DK, Glenn Richards, tick 100%, would be nice if he had the orignal COO GXL Terry King, good guy and good operator.
The CFO is ok but I don't rate him in Glenn's league or Terry's. I'm a GXL investor from the early days pre 2012. I'm speaking from personal opinions and some corporate background.
I agree whilst people (CEO) have hosted their own successful businesses this doesn't guarantee future success in a corporate environment .
Many years ago, I had 8 middle managers threaten to walk out if a certain manager was appointed their GM. The potential GM was very successful in his own private enterprise but once we bought out his company it became clear he wasn't cut out for a publicly listed corporate entity. No we didn't make him GM. He was good on paper but didn't play well with the other kids.
Just one example but past success doesn't guarantee future success especially when the rules of business conduct are changed.
Interesting prospect mixing pods (toe suckers) with physios. I can see similar issues arising as per GXL Vets being physios unit (customer focussed) and pods being equivalent to Petbarn (more retail focussed).
Also Glenn is not CEO here but exec chair, so let's see how the two CEOs handle this new entity.
Just a thought but why not get a Terry King type person and put him above these two CEOs to train them up and guide them in a publicly listed space. Glenn is there but he's hands off and it wouldn't hurt to have a seasoned operations person to guide the newby CEOs.
I'm looking for an entry but haven't the confidence until the current structure is proven out.
