I have been watching developments around the IOC (Rio Tinto) strike over the last couple of weeks. The Labrador City mineworkers are currently on strike over planned changes to retirement benefits & use of temporary workers etc...
IOC own & operate the QNS&L railway that CIA uses to get it's ore down to Sept Iles.
Two mine unions are on strike & a third union (Steelworkers local 9344) was to join them yesterday. This union consists of the port & rail workers and my concern was that any strike action by them could effect QNS&L rail operations & thus CIA's rail shipments.
As a common carrier the railway falls under legislation that protects both freight & passenger services all the way up to Schefferville.
The good news is that under 'essential services legislation' they appear to be disallowed from striking:

Some more good news is that Iron Ore is on the way up!

Have a good day & don't forget to pick-up some more shares on the way home!!
