In my opinion, under the current overleveraged position of Australian household mortgages, it would only take a rise of <2% to cause another property crash. That said, there can be other catalysts (political-domestic or international, environmental etc) that can have the capacity to cause a property crash. Risk is always out there.

IMHO it isn't that bad - but people need to learn to cut back their lifestyles. Certainly there will be areas that will crash but the property market is large and most areas will be fine.
