Vocus is about fibre, it doesn't have mobile infrastructure (they are an MVNO), but it is believed the increased bandwidth demands of 5G will benefit backhaul providers like vocus.
Mobile is about 'last mile', getting the data to and from the tower (from the internet side) is where Vocus can benefit.
I think it will depend on the way mobile tower ownership plays out, 5G requires a lot more towers to achieves its ambitions, if lots of towers end up being owned independently Vocus could benefit, else MNO are likely to use there own fibre as much as they can (TLS/Optus/TPG anyway)
But it all gets mixed up at some point, there are only so many overseas and inter-captial cables and the Mobile is just one end of any connection.
I think there are a lot of risks to capital with 5G in the short term, so im happy for them to keep away (not that we have that much capital to risk).
