One year over here in the West, our council decided to bring the due date of our rates forward by 1 mth. When you pay, you are paying 12mths in advance, so by rights we should have been credited 1 mth or reduced 1 mth for the first year. No way would they have a bar of that, so they got away with a huge windfall.
