Your children have been given an excellent example from the sounds of it and I hope they grow to be like the couple I talked about whose three children were all a chip off the old block.
My sister fortunately married one of the sons.
The parents went on to foster children and that had a lot to do with the packed funeral.
I only recently found out (RC on child abuse came up in conversation) that two young boys they fostered were horribly abused.
They were brothers and she was asked could she possibly take one. Her answer was - no way I'll find room for both. You can't split brothers up.
Friday night was lollie night and sis and my brother in law used to drive over with a bag for the kids.
They were in a flat and were saving for a house but still were happy to put their hand in their pocket.
He's been like that all his life. Always knowns some single mum working and doing her best having left a dead beat partner. He's first to help.
Involved in footy and keeps kids on the straight and narrow.
He is terrific with kids of any age.
Have to laugh sometimes when he tells me about getting work done. If I ask how much it costs it's always a slab or nothing.
    What goes around comes around.
His sister and brother are both religious but he is not.
His sister in no time, having moved, had organised a few to cook and feed the homeless once a week. She qualified for child minding and through the church minds kiddies half day a week. Her husband too would volunteer for any thing.
The older brother was fabulous to his parents and provided well for them because he could afford it and wanted to.
I do bless the day sis met her husband.
I had come to the rescue of sis and hubbie and so nice to get a phone call saying thanks, you have been a rock to our family over the years and we always come to you for sage advice and regard you as part of our family and will always be there for you.
When you know they are not empty words they mean a lot.
Once helped someone who sent me a lovely thank you note. The final sentence read - you are a truly noble person.
Almost cried and like you took it outside and held it skywards and asked how's that mum and dad?
Probably getting a bit deep and meaningful here so best end this post.
