Yes, scientists go to great lengths to get global coverage. And, no, they don't make a big thing about Greenland or Antarctica in any global analysis. But they do look to understand the global variations, because part of their ongoing work is providing regional and more local forecasts for flood and drought planning etc and to understand changes taking place climatically
