What the franchise sector needs is the accc to step up and do its job. It's is to enforce the franchise code of conduct but seams to be missing in action. I would like see the accc increase it's activity similar to asic in the financial advice space in recent years. Until this happens franchisors will continue to take advantage of unsuspecting franchisees. I understand senator John Williamson is pushing hard for a parliamentary enquiry. Franchisees simply don't have the smarts or the money to take there franchisor on.
