I have an idea it may stick a rocket up the chump, the US would not like to lose their top position in nuclear, that is a given in my opinion, but they do need to fix up some of the delays and costs associated with getting a new plant up and running, the NRC needs to come into this I believe, see where most of these SMR's are destined to be first trialled in Canada, I believe that is because of a faster regulatory path?
But having said that, if it were GEH/Holtech were getting the contracts in the UK, then maybe he would be more amenable to that? and also if there was one place in the world where both the US and Australia could possibly accept the installation of a GLE laser enrichment besides themselves of course it could be the UK?
Something else that came to mind wrt to these SMR's?
If they are transportable, could that also mean that they are reusable?
i.e. send in twenty of so, to an area that has lots of UNF sitting around , clean it up and then move to the next area to clean? Just a thought?
