picastoc - haha- the onions were well-cooked! just the taste of the fish which was anchovy-like - but I like the preserved anchovies - it's a mystery, but in that household mostly the husband cooks (she always worked outside, in the garden etc.) - so I think it came down to the cook.
Anyway, that's off- topic - it was all about Lentils (or lintels ;-))
I cooked an amazing soup yesterday almost without salt or smoked this or that, just combined different types of pumpkins (all 'given' to me - people don't want to be bothered peeling them, I think) half a capsicum, browned onions, garlic two peeled tomatoes, one hot pepper, a bit of salt and pepper - and it was amazing, still got some left today.
and so easy - thickening; just pour some of the still recognizable bits into a mixer, mix and pour back into soup.
I have decided: this week I am going vegetarian and use up every vegetable that's in my fridge.
