Always useful (or so I find) to examine what a person actually said (rather than what someone else said they said, or what someone else said that that the person must have meant).
He seems to hold earnestly held religious beliefs and was trying to explain that to someone when asked.
I disagree with much of those beliefs, and with the literal interpretation of his God's view on male homosexuality - but that is not the point.
He has one set of beliefs and I have another - for me to be "allowed" mine, it seems to me that we must "allow" his (to be heard, and contradicted, and debated).
What we (as a society) cannot allow is for me or he to carry out actions detrimental to others, or to incite actions detrimental to others.
It seems to me that Israel Folau does not cross this line (and indeed endeavours to lead a decent and thoughtful life, and admits mistakes).
