I too used to buy marmalade from the local markets.
Quality has dropped off, (too sweet as well, for a marmalade).
Price now $6 for a 250 gram jar.
Bonne Mamam, product of France, is my favourite for jams
good sized 370 gram jar.
On special quite often, and on special at Coles this week, for $2.60.
Normally $5.20 Blackberry jam, and others, excellent.
Bought marmalade for the first time, 2 days ago.
Opened it just now, finely cut peel, and a nice light bitter taste.
Highly reccommend. Will get another jar myself while they're on special.
Pictures from an O/seas site, as it had best info.
