Fair warning to AVZ posters

Hi posters, just letting you know in advance that I will be taking the AVZ forum on as a special interest case. I have returned to the mod/admin side of HC and on my return I was warned that AVZ has been a troublesome forum. Just now I have looked at the report queue and the  queue of AVZ reported post is as long as my arm. It should never have to be this way. Soooo....from here on in, in the words of Sting, "every step you take, every move you make I'll be watching you".

Now there are two ways we can do this. My preference is for the Kumbaya approach where we all follow the rules. We can debate the stock intensely by all means but at the end of the day when it comes to each other we should all hold hands and sing. The other way, my non-preferred way, is that I rampage through the thread like a psychotic Viking, slashing, burning, pillaging and suspending at will. I sincerely hope it does not come to that as there are no clear winners that way...not you posters and not HC.

So to give everyone a clear understanding there will be 4 main things I will be targeting.

1. Flaming (bullying). Back in the early days of the internet it was like the wild west. People said what they wanted, attacked who they wanted, fired a few shots into the ceiling of the saloon then rode out of town screaming yeeehaa. However the real life effects of cyber bullying have now been well documented. Make no mistake that HC intends to be a leader in stamping out such practices. Persistent flamers of other posters will be suspended, perhaps permanently if we believe that is warranted.

2.Defamation. This one is no joke. Internet posters have been successfully sued in the past for comments and accusations made against real people. This one could cost you tens of thousands of dollars while leaving a stain on the reputation of our forum. That is not to say you cannot explain why you are critical of company decisions but don't make that quantum leap into unfounded emotional accusations and insults against company reps.

3. Being a proxy for a suspended poster. If a poster has previously had their account terminated then you are not to post on their behalf or repost their social media posts from elsewhere. There are good reasons for this so please take note.

4. Over reporting. It is not appreciated when posters try to use the mod team as a way to silence opinions they don't like. If you are reporting a lot and most of the posts you report end up being moderated then that will be fair enough but if your reports are being consistently ignored by mods and are considered to be a frivolous attempt to silence others then you may also find yourself suspended.

My sincere hope is that I will look back on this post in two weeks time and consider it was a great waste of key strokes. That can only happen if you all read and take note. I will be locking this thread now. Please note I have not posted this in order to start a debate on this issue. The best course of action is for you guys to read, comprehend and comply.
