I can't use the Apache experience as any kind of real marker. It was an interesting farm in that never really got far off the ground. The meat was unconventional oil across all the permits as well as possible conventionals in the Acacia blocks (the part I was interested in). They had hors d'oeuvres in some cheap unlikely coastal drills and an investor led push to refocus before we could really get to the main course.

There isn't really a way to spin it as a positive - it clearly wasn't a success - but I don't really see it as a negative that would cloud other farm ins. It wasn't the Ungani trend. It was a wholly separate province in a different financial environment.

It's not the house down the street, it's judging the value of local house prices based on a commission house half a suburb away... That might have had buried pirate gold under it if the wife didn't complain so long and loud about the neighbors forcing a move. There is a little more nuance in it.

I'm not making any overall claims as to the attractiveness of our acreage. I just don't think it's easy to gauge by a couple of presentations he's doing and where he's doing them. He obviously doesn't have anything sown up, that we can say. But presentations don't preclude something being on the boil. It's always good to keep your options open and create at least the allusion of competing interest. Also if he weren't doing these we'd probably be blasting him for not doing anything.

Regarding HTD. We have to remember that Ungani was essentially predicted by Cow Bore 1. It took 26 years for that to come true. The Cow Bore report states:

“Cow Bore No. 1 drilled an entirely Tournaisian dolomite not previously encountered within the Lower Fairfield Group in the basin. This dolomite unit, which is significant in terms of its reservoir potential.... Therefore, an oil accumulation may be discovered on the Jurgurra Terrace if an unfaulted, dip-closed structure with thick impermeable strata overlying Carboniferous reservoir rocks is drilled. A structure of this type could occur on trend with Cow Bore No. 1 in the New Polly's - Ungani Lakes Trend.”

Quarter of a century. I'm not perturbed by a lack of HTD drilling in the last decade when there has essentially been a single operator doing exploration and they've been ticking off the low hanging fruit first.

This stuff seems to happen about as quickly as the hydrocarbons cook.
