    promotional discounts are almost NEVER funded by the supermarket.
    Always by the brand owner. Always maintaining the retailers % margin and often the retailers full $ margin.

    retailers take no margin reduction on promotional discounting unless the brand owner is BIG and powerful. (BUBS is neither)
