FSGS was targeted for numerous reasons. Both business and pharmacological in nature. It is characterised by extraordinarily high protein loss into the urine. There is currently no treatment.
Add to that the multi-billion dollar market, and you can see WHY it was targeted and granted orphan status.
Success on this disease alone, will yield many multiples of the current MC.
DM, to the novice investor, seems to be a relative newcomer. But, if you’d done the background reading into propagermanium, you’d know that it affects the very same enzyme systems that cause protein loss in diabetic kidneys. As I was reading, it all opened up before me. I think Prof knew that DM nephropathy was inflammatory in nature, and was therefore amenable to being treated in this way.
Success in DM nephropathy, will yield even more multiples above that for FSGS.
DM (& it’s nephropathology) is almost ubiquitous.
It runs tandem with obesity.
It’s a worldwide phenomenon.
Add to this, the partnering with PIQ...
I think mgt has done an amazing job despite protestations from certain (currently absent) posters in these fora. The VLA deal is an example of what’s on offer.
Look at how much funds bigpharma has banked overseas. Cash that they have to repatriate due to what the US Govt has stipulated. $1B here or there is small fry, seriously.
