True...Good teams can win anywhere but we're talking about where the advantage lies.
There's no advantage to a side who's played a few games at the MCG to a side that has played half the season there.
Yet all finals in lead up to the grand final are played to the advantage of the qualifying sides and on their home ground.
That's where the advantage ends.
There is a distinct advantage for clubs who have the MCG as their home ground...Richmond is one such club.
Had the final been played in Adelaide with the advantage and support of the crowd etc. the result imo would have been different.
Eg..Bulldogs vs Sydney...Although the Swans lost the advantage of hosting a home game, the Bulldogs had played only played the one game there that season.... so no real advantage to either side as the ground was fairly neutral in that case.
Crows unlike Sydney vs Bulldogs had a distinct disadvantage when they came up against a side who played half their season at the MCG..
OK It's all about money but ideally the final should be played on a neutral ground.
