I've always been of the opinion that Lake Cowan / Treasure Island was a complete crock, spun together by the pre-Shandong FML management team who conveniently shifted the position of the Boulder-Lefroy Fault to neatly fit their theory that it was the next St Ives. They then continued to spin it with the aid of a few nuggets from surface quartz outcrops (sound familiar?), raised a bucketload of cash and bought Crescent. And so began the descent into madness...
If you put the BLF back where everyone else thinks it is, FML's bit of Lake Cowan is in the wrong stratigraphy and has nothing to do with St Ives at all. If they were honest (and didn't have it in the accounts at such a high carrying value) they'd quietly take it out the back and shoot it.
