Cobalt prices have recently hit multi-year highs of US$95,000/t as the market assesses a material supply shortfall in the face of rising demand for lithium-ion batteries, underpinned by rapid growth of the Electric Vehicle (EV) market. This has been supported by reports of major global vehicle manufacturers working to negotiate long-term supply commitments from raw material producers of cobalt.
Changes to our valuation

Reflecting this positive outlook for cobalt supply-demand, we have raised our cobalt price forecast from US$65,000/t to US$75,000/t.
