After the Greek Conservatives {New Democracy} won the Greek General Election on Sunday, hopes have been substantially raised for the "Sappes Gold Project" in Northern Greece and which is owned and controlled by fully listed, Greenwich Resources PLC {GRWA.L}.

Greenwich Resources could even be extracting the Gold during the 2nd half of 2004.
Greenwich Resources are currently up by more than 20% on the LSE.
ATHENS (AFX) - Greek Socialist leader George Papandreou conceded defeat to the opposition conservatives in Sunday's general election, ending his party's more than 10-year rule over the country. "The party of New Democracy (ND) has won theelection. I wish to congratulate ND leader Costas Karamanlis and wish him good luck in his work," Papandreou, a former foreign minister and leader of the Pan-Hellenic Socialist Party (PASOK), said in a televised statement. Exit polls said the conservative opposition New Democracy had won general elections by a comfortable margin. Official results were expected later in the night
