Yeah, MB recently announced they will be offering EQ Boost 48VMH on at least two drive platforms for each new model release, and guess what inline ISG they are using:

It is not simply the drive train that will significantly add NdFeB demand but threefold impact with both the electrification of previously mechanically driven accessories, pumps, fans, A/C, etc, and the ongoing light weighting switching out ferrite mags for smaller, more powerful NdFeB.
The derisory comments here re the 16KW ISG totally misunderstand the "power" component which in fact is the virtually instantaneous spooling of the electric compressor boosting fuel efficiency to ICE prior the exhaust driven turbo's kicking in > the elimination of turbo lag, improving thermal efficiency ICE.
Every EU auto is facing stiff financial penalties for every gram CO2 over various set standards coming years, they simply cannot produce enough loss making EV's to avoid significant financial pain, profitable 48VMH, electrification ICE, is their salvation, hence we are at the tip of the iceberg, both in numbers & tech development.
