I find it curious that you find it difficult. I have worked many times with lethal amounts of radioactivity, in and around cyclotrons and with both volatile and long-lived isotopes. In my experience, the public is always fearful of radioactivity as a general rule. Often inappropriately so. Doesn't change anything.

WLP waste contain thorium and uranium, which will never go away (half lives of millennia). They release all sorts of radiation, including many gamma rays. When concentrated, they are unhealthy to deadly. But long before they reach those concentrations, they have the power to involve fear and reprisal.

Someone claimed the WLP is being stored outside. Where the winds might blow it away as it dries? That would be most unwise. It is easily detected as it is a multiple of background and if detected to have escaped containment, I'm sure Lynas would take a hit. That's a risk you should not find difficult to comprehend.

Bottom line for the public, Lynas and investors: No risks of radioactivity storage should be taken lightly.
