I usually don't watch opening or closing ceremonies, but I had a go at watching this one because it's in Oz. Much credit must go to the on-ground participants and their tutors, and thank you cyclone iris for staying away (what a dumb time to hold the games!!), but the interplay between music and voice was so poorly done that the important words could not be heard properly, so the message was very muffled, hardly interpreted or understood.
There is too much gimmickry too.
I turned off a few times but came back, just because it's Oz - eh!
Overall, imo, it was a very poor production of a sort of meaningless theme. I am disappointed.
The best parts were the renditions of Island Home and The Voice!
