    There were a lot of great WW2 books of that era.
    One of my favourites was "The Password is Courage", the story of a British soldier captured at Dunkirk I think, who finally found himself as a POW working at Auschwitz.
    His name was something Coward.

    Ps one of the heroes of Colditz was a bloke called Airey Neave who ended up as an MP murdered by the IRA.
