Since there is no new Ancmt, it is possible there is some profit taking after the latest rise in SP. Another explanation is the retracement of Cobalt prices this week. Cobalt prices saw a 4 times increase over the last 12 months with a 20 % increase in the past 30 days alone. In my opinion this was not good for the long term. COB mgmt has mentioned it is targeting an OPEX at $12/ lb and I would not be surprised if they base their upcoming PFS on a selling price around $ 25 to 30/lb max. Today's price is still at $ 40/lb despite the correction. I believe $ 25 to 30/ lb would satisfy both buyers and cost effective producers like COB.
