So what's the difference between a JORC and a scoping study? Actually, a lot. One follows the other.CLA is on track to deliver both within a very short space of time. Well done CLA! It will show that we have a large, non-DRC, feasible cobalt deposit that will attract serious (and much larger) investors.
As some would be aware, the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (‘the JORC Code’) is a professional code of practice that sets minimum standards for Public Reporting of minerals Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves. So the JORC will help all investors better understand the size of the cobalt resource that CLA is looking at in the short term. That takes us one, very important step further forward.
But it will be the scoping study that will really help us in terms of understanding things like infrastructure & set-up costs; method of mining the resource (which I understand will be initially an open cut pit with underground mining further down the track. On that point the costs of mining should be considerably less than that of, say, Australia, so I'm expecting to see some relatively low costs of producing the cobalt); as well as future production estimates and $$$ returns. We will be seeing this report very soon. Bring it on!!
