mate you only need to find out how many current companies operating using the barito are using the shallow barges and you would know thats something wayyyy down the road thing.
PCI mine development will see us using a larger barge at purnama port to and fro from which we would se the little barges operating - yes it would add another step (loading/unloading) into the larger barge (and subsequently $$$) but I'm all for it if it improves the stability of supply.
The road to purnama will only come when BBM is operational so at least 1 yr away.
Saying that with such high margins on offer and 100% of proceeds going to cokal for the next 1-2 yrs it is possible we may see some quicker developments on that front too. But I'm not going there yet.
It was interesting to note that management said straight away that the renjian funding would be used for TBAR development (3 times as much strike as BBM)
God knows what could happen. at the very least I want them to build a 2km road down river so that they have extra catchment area for the river levels and help with barge movement.
