Consolidation and splits strictly speaking don't change value of your stock. There has to be something else with it too. It was probably a debt to share conversion followed by consolidation.
It is just one of the things begin thrashed about. Might not come to a fruition but the indication that an investor with appetite for risk is pursued might lead in this direction
