I think they are a different breed of investor, not necessarily evil
but their goals are different.
They are investing in what they imagine is a nice stable long term copper play. They probably know little about the real fundamentals. (Certainly none were willing to take the time to describe them to me).
The typical AVB investor has dug deep, sifted the chaff from the wheat, the cowboys from the technically capable and hopes for a higher return for their higher risk.
Part of the angst from AVB holders IMO is the perceived lack of reward for the risk we have carried through the cycle, the trust we have put in the board etc.
From where we sit it looks like the AVB board has given up on us.
I would have thought the pay packets and options deals we granted were ample reward to see them carry through for us all. Maybe I was wrong on that score. Maybe the story is more complicated but it is the only story we are privy to at this point.
