The XJO closed higher on Thursday, where spread narrowed, but volume increased, which suggests it was an unconvincing response higher, and infers that price remains relatively weak.  The Index traded inside Wednesdays bar, and both days traded inside the spread of last Tuesdays bar.  Energy or a cause is likely building here, so watch for the 'clean and clear' breakout of this range, which may offer some insight into future direction (and beware of a weak or unsupported false break).
