Actually the spiral of deregulation and successive boom and busts such as dot com, housing 1 and 2008 etc. was started by Reagan and has continued unchecked by either party. Thatcher took London in a similar directi9n.
If you look at the leader of the Fed and other key financial positions within the US government over terms since Reagan you will predominantly find the vampire squid somewhere in there and advisors from Harvard, NY and Columbia giving advice.
The same people reaping millions from the big banks. Corruption all round? As one person put it - ‘it’s a Wall Street Government’ and they are all off to the races deregulated to the max with virtually no oversight.
The GFC was started by the Republicans in 82 in essence but no government since has pulled hard on the reins to control the industry.
The financial lobbyists put billions into the pockets of US politicians, why is it in their interest to stop the show? Sounds like here doesn’t it?
Politicians of the first world. Greed wins every time no matter what the party colours are.
