    That's your take on it then fine. But I respectfully disagree, and here's why;

    I have no problem acknowledging that there have been systemic problems in the banking / insurance area for a long time. And I know that both majors have been sucking up to them forever. All these current revelations before the commission didn't just start happening recently.

    But Turnbull and his senior ministers to a man, all came out and said this commission wasn't required. That the existing regime and penalties were adequate. That we had the best banking and financial system in the world. Etc. etc.

    As it's turned out so far, we can reasonably say that it isn't ok. That there are problems. And that there need to be changes. Turnbull & Co didn't read the political winds correctly, and didn't understand what was happening.
    They got it wrong. Plain and simple. They now have to cop it sweet.

    The same standards that have been applied previously to errors made by Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Keating, Howard, Rudd, Gillard, Rudd, Abbott et al now have to also be applied to Malcolm Bligh Turnbull.

    Even his most ardent supporters cannot obfuscate, confuse, lead astray or outright lie to cover this bloke. The punters have woken up.
