Already banks are reviewing their LVRs and lending practices including requiring detailed income information from all future loan applicants. This will act to restrict future mortgage approvals which will restrict access to credit. With banks restricting lending, and borrowers becoming increasingly concerned about rising interest rates, the credit fueled housing bubble will deflate leading to a self-fulfilling deflationary spiral.
