The potential size of the Fragile X opportunity may well be the thing that stops a large pharma getting involved. Dr T has to do the right thing and maximise profits for shareholders and any company looking to invest needs to minimise its risk.
My guess is that Fragile X is going to need to be left out of the equation somehow in order for both parties to get what they want out of an initial deal. Alternatively, a small upfront amount and large payouts down the track if everything works out well.
