Hey buddy, i was confused about this for a long time, until i worked out how price gaps like that are brokered. In premarket conditions you can set a bid much higher or much lower than the indicative price but you will usally be matched with the best price offer/bid available that will not exceed your limit. People do this to secure an order, which is typically useful with microcap stocks like DCC with low liquidity. An order may seem way off like that hours before market open, but you'll find in the last ten min before open, fake bids and orders are cleared and massive shotgun orders are placed. If thats the case only those that placed there bids at gapped prices get filled. Premarket sentiment is eaisly maniuplated by fake bids and whales with tiny stocks like DCC. Especally when a trend that was unsustainably strong (either bullish like nov-jan or bearish like feb-mar) starts to go sideways and people start scalping for reversals/continuations.
