BYOD is better than COPE for many reasons... lower hardware and service costs, shorter deployment timeframes, increased employee satisfaction and productivity.... the list goes on and on....
But BYOD has its own problems... security issues and minimal visibility into device usage... Also, it has hidden costs... increased workload on IT staff (so they hire more staff) to manage BYOD programs internally... Also, huge costs in handling reimbursements manually (so they hire more staff)...
So BYODs value depends on how you implement and optimise it...
Imagine if you could have all the benefits (lower cost, increase staff productivity) of BYOD and none of its inherent faults (security and visibility issues and increased IT, Accounts Payable and Finance staff costs).
