Well ..... without going into the excruciating detail, one challenge of armour on armoured vehicles is stopping shaped charges (RPG, anti tank missile warheads etc) if you can layer materials to disrupt the warhead stream (basically a jet of copper) it makes all the difference. layering metal and ceramic is one very good method (e.g chobham armour and its successors/variants) but not great for design (blocky, hard to make complex shapes). The Titomic process being able to layer ceramic infused layers would go a long way to solving that problem - still more testing to do to determine exactly how much benefit - but very promising.
.... and Titanium .... weighting a lot less than steel ..... offers obvious benefits.
