I've just started to look at COB. Call me slow, you're probably right. I cannot find a set of economic data, costs, product prices etc. Is there one?
Today's announcement: 31% more tonnes but grade down from 910ppm to 850ppm. 18Mt added at...
(72 x 850 - 54 x 910) = 670ppm
Somewhere on one of threads I found a production cost of US$12 per pound of Co equivalent / 0.75 XR = AU$16 per pound
Cobalt head grade 0.1% Co + 20% by-products = 2204 x 0.12 / 100 pounds per tonne = 2.64 pounds of cobalt equivalent per tonne.
Processing recovery = 90%
Recovered cobalt eq = 2.64 x 90% = 2.4 pounds per tonne
Production in Mtpa = 4,000t cobalt equivalent production x 2204 / 2.4 = 3.7Mtpa
Production cost = 2.4 x 16 = AU$38 per tonne.
Mining cost = $16 / tonne assuming a 3:1 strip ratio
Admin cost = $5 / tonne
Processing = 38 - 16 - 5 = $17 per tonne for a 3.7Mtpa hydromet plant.
Anyone got an opinion on the above?
