There is no such thing as a whois guard really - Unless someone falsely registers a domain under their name to protect the identity of someone else - but even then somewhere you must have the details of the correct holder. All whois 'guard'companies do is change the technical and contact details to their own in the registry - but records are still kept of who actually owns the name.
