One answer could be that I am a slow learner, maybe very slow.
I was trapped a couple of times.
Croesus went belly up, unexpectedly by me. Cost me a ship load more when they became Monarch and it went t@#ts up. Ask some of the oldtimers about Monarch, what a sham!!
It was resuciated and became something else which changed it's name to something else which is now what?
Ahhh that's right - Eastern Gold. It looked like it would have another name a few times over the last couple of months.
Most of these times things happened quickly and I did not get the opportunity to get out before the ship hit the fun.
I have been diluted to oblivion over those years and only have 10,000 shares now worth about 2/3 of 3/5 of fa, so, I am just letting it ride now. It's kinda like a lotto ticket that would never pay much even if it came good.
"I have to ask the obvious question. With all of the asset classes available. Realestate options as no brainers around the world,"
Your statement is one of the most dangerous I have seen.
I have just retired after 25 years in realestate sales and land development, and , I can tell you that I would be very reluctant to invest in realestate as I have seen people absolutely devastated by their investments in property. Most people have to borrow to invest in property directly.
Never a borrower or a lender be.
When property turns down, and it always does, you are trapped big-time. The costs of getting in and out with stamp duty, solicitors and commissions are horrendous. It usually takes years to gain enough to cover these costs alone.
Davyhurst never seems to come up with the production that is anticipated from the drilling.
I was also told that the plant is the incorrect type for the ground there. Maybe it has been modified now.
I would really like to see EGS do well, but I have my doubts.
I am not down-ramping the company as I hate to see any company not do well, but experience is very educational.
