An interesting read with a series of misfortunes impacting on the Spanish crop, from frost so severe that some trees will need to be replaced to a variety of diseases affecting their crop.
Looks like we could have a trifecta this year, reduced crops in Australia, California and Spain. All whilst demand for almonds keeps on growing.
I was overweight in SHV prior to the last capital raising but chose to buy more despite this thus I have been seeking an opportunity to offload some shares. Fortunately I have been able to hold off on selling so far and looks like my perseverance is going to pay off.
The half year presentation, in my mind, appeared to be quite conservative in their estimates for our crop and pricing. If they are conservative and the Spanish and Californian crops are as greatly impacted as this report and other research uncovered by Inchiquin then it looks like we could see a much higher SHV share price in the next few months.
