We've endured some tough times over the past 18 months but this has to be the worst period. There seems no chance of any upward movement for another month because of this capital-raising situation and all we can do is sit back and endure it. Well, there is the option that many others are taking of course; that is, to sell at the current SP, but I just can't understand why anyone would do that unless they were desperate for the cash. It's almost an inevitability that once the new capital is bedded in and the positive announcements are released the SP will return to at least 6.5c. So, as far as I can see, very few should be bailing out at 5.3 or 5.4c, unless of course they're betting on a fall even lower and a chance to buy back in then. That may well explain the current selling, for I don't think it makes much sense to sell at 5.4c with the aim of buying at 5.3 in the SPP. Or maybe they're getting in a little early on the old 'Sell in May and go away' theory. I frankly can't recall another stock like CXO, where management has continued to make steady progress towards an apparently tangible profitable development and yet the SP never seems to reflect any progress at all. Will it be case of Ka-boom! all of a sudden when a certain point is reached? I wish I knew, for at the moment I'm so fed up that I'd be tempted to sell all for just a dollar profit.
