The market and the industry clearly don't agree with the IER that the company is worth that much. Perhaps the Cudeco disaster has poisoned the well against Qld copper, I don't know. But regardless of the reason, the market has been well and truly tested and its conclusion is that this the value of AOH.

There's not really any point arguing with it. Personally I think CMMC are getting this for a steal but all I can say is, good on them. They've done their duty to their shareholders and done it very well.

Give it five years, Cloncurry will be in production, the copper price will be heading back to $4 to supply Elon's factories, both mines will be cash cows, and some idiots on the board of a bigger miner will take over the combined CMMC/AOH for way more than it's worth at the top of cycle and torch a big pile of money and their shareholders' value. Happens every time.
