To be frank, if the original SS numbers were fine using underground, then they were a bit silly to not simply run with them after checking that the ASX was not let them going to run with the OC numbers... 

If they had done so, with an addition that the new Western results were directing them to the possibility of OC which would have delivered far better results, the blood bath would not have been as bad (IMHO).

My gut says the UG numbers were ok, but not fantastic, and CLA got worried they would be slaughtered so tried to push through the OC ones....  unwise as it turns out, easy to say in retrospect, but I would have said it before hand as well...

Naturally, if the UG numbers are bad... well that is another story.
