Love this announcement, it shows that management are using all means necessary to allow their $$ to go further. I knew there were grants up for grabs for R&D, however $1.2mil? That is VERY handy at this stage of development.
I've always been a firm believer in the benefits of R&D. Get the best quality products out there and the people will come - ESPECIALLY when its in the health sector. No-one wants to compromise on health or well-being.
Personally, I hope a good chunk of that grant gets funnelled straight back into further R&D. There is always improvements to be made in terms of quality or production time/cost/methodology. Innovation leads to success, and you have to keep being innovative to retain that initial jump on the market, because mark my words - companies WILL be trying to move in on NUH's market.
If you look at the biggest and best companies in the world, they always allocate huge amounts of resources to R&D.
