    Safer for a company to release info and not make assumptions about what "the market" may or may not be pricing in. Furthermore, the rule clearly states "material effect on the price OR VALUE of the entity's securities" - so even if your assumption is true that "the market's" expectation is being fully met and not remotely impacting the share PRICE, the company still has an obligation to report matters that may significantly impact the VALUE of its securities.

    The company clearly believes that this announcement impacts its VALUE, and so it is duty bound to report it.
