I went back and read the JORC - which further shows this channel sampling doesn't represent the deposit, but is rather the 'cream' of it.
the overall JORC grade is 1.1 g/t at the standard 0.5g/t cut-off.
Considering the JORC lies under the old pit, that means the strip ratio is going to be higher than historical (as you need to move wall dirt to get to good ore) plus they are only earning in to 70%, 49% currently.
The region is also a high risk region for mining, with the government of PNG taking over mines in recent history (like the OK Tedi Mine in 2013).
Personally I think they should focus on livingstone rather than misima...
